Italian Unification

The Italian Unification, known as the Risorgimento, was the 19th-century political and social movement that consolidated different states of the Italian peninsula into a single state, the Kingdom of Italy. This long process, marked by wars and popular uprisings, concluded with Rome becoming the capital.
