Kingdom Of Denmark

The Kingdom of Denmark is a sovereign state and monarchy rooted in Europe, comprising Denmark proper, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands. As one of the world's oldest continuous monarchies, it holds a rich history within the Nordic Region.

Its unique structure as a "Unity of the Realm" means that while Denmark proper, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands share the same head of state, the monarch, Greenland and the Faroe Islands enjoy extensive self governance and are largely autonomous in domestic affairs. This arrangement reflects centuries of shared history and distinct cultural identities within the kingdom.

The kingdom operates as a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary democracy. Denmark itself is known globally for its robust welfare state model, high living standards, and commitment to social equality. It is a founding member of NATO and the United Nations, and is part of the European Union (though Greenland and the Faroe Islands are not).
