Protoplanet

+A protoplanet is a large, embryonic [Planet](/wiki/planet) formed within a [Protoplanetary Disk](/wiki/protoplanetary_disk) of cosmic dust and gas. Through gravitational accretion, these nascent worlds gather more material, eventually clearing their orbital path to become mature planets.
