Stride Piano

Stride piano is an energetic jazz piano style that emerged in the 1920s, evolving from Ragtime. Its signature is the left hand's 'stride' motion, playing bass on beats one and three, and a chord on beats two and four, while the right hand improvises melodies. This powerful technique laid groundwork for later Jazz Piano styles.
