+The [supremum](/wiki/Supremum), or least upper bound, is the smallest value that is greater than or equal to every element within a given [set](/wiki/Set). It defines the "ceiling" of a set's values, even if that ceiling itself is not an element, distinguishing it from the [maximum](/wiki/Maximum) which must be part of the set.
