Tectonic Plate

A tectonic plate is a massive, irregularly shaped slab of solid Lithosphere, comprising both continental and oceanic crust. These plates constantly glide over the Earth's semi-fluid asthenosphere, propelled by the immense forces of Mantle Convection. Their slow, relentless motion sculpts the planet's surface, forming mountains, trenches, and causing seismic activity.
