Most zombies in the canon are created by as a consequence of experimentatios within [Nexus Core](https://madnesscombat.fandom.com/wiki/MADNESS:_Project_Nexus/NEXUS_Core), with the exception of [Tricky](https://madnesscombat.fandom.com/wiki/Tricky) and [Christoff](https://madnesscombat.fandom.com/wiki/Jesus)'s zombies. They are more resistant than normal average grunts, being able to take shots multiple times without being phased. In the game [Madness: Project Nexus (Classic)](https://madnesscombat.fandom.com/wiki/Madness:_Project_Nexus_\(Classic\)), Zombies are the Experimental result of [Project Nexus](https://madnesscombat.fandom.com/wiki/Project_Nexus). Rather than using weapons, these zombies attack by grabbing and biting their targets.
