Capillary action describes the ability of a liquid to flow in narrow spaces without the assistance of, or even in opposition to, Gravity. This movement is driven by the interplay of intermolecular forces, including Adhesion between the liquid and the solid surface, and Cohesion within the liquid itself, amplified by Surface Tension.
